In 1978, Russ and Jeannie Maytag decided to follow in the footsteps of Colorado's original settlers. Piece by piece, the Maytags added to their original homestead, building a pristine working ranch of 3,000 acres while preserving western traditions of natural grazing, healthy ecology, and family participation in the ranching lifestyle. Expressing their love of horses, ranching, family values, and big sky country bounded by mountain peaks, they built a home and created a life here.

A working cattle ranch preserved into the twenty first century, Maytag Mountain Ranch exists in accordance with ecologically and environmentally sound ranching practices and offers unlimited outdoor recreational opportunities and amenities. This is their blog.
